THE COLOSSUS OF MAROUSSI, HENRY MILLER
1st New Directions edition, following Colt Press printing (1941), of Henry Miller’s finest work recounting his travels in Greece, 1946. Hardcover with damaged and fragile original paper dust-cover. Book itself in VERY GOOD condition, with some markings from the cover contact and general age. Protected in archival mylar.
This copy has been dedicated and signed, with a photograph of George Katsimbalis - Miller’s dear friend, the main subject of this book and in fact the “Colossus” himself. He signes to his friend Saki Gavaras - a Greek-American who owned the eccentric La Fonda Hotel in Taos, NM and who is most known for buying DH lawrence’s erotic paintings upon his death.
Extremely rare and charged with emotion.
